GivEnergy Administration: What Existing UK Battery Owners Should Know

What has changed?
Official UK records show that GivEnergy Ltd (company number 11571089) entered administration on 9 April 2026. Separate records show GivEnergy Commercial Ltd (company number 14546237) entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation, with winding-up commencing on 13 August 2026.
Because of those company-status changes, The Tools and Tech is no longer including GivEnergy hardware in current new-purchase shortlists.
If you already own GivEnergy equipment
Do not assume that older warranty, service or installer arrangements continue unchanged. Keep your original invoice, installer details, serial numbers, commissioning records and warranty documents, and verify the current support route before paying for service work or replacement hardware.
If your system is operating normally, this company-status update by itself is not evidence of a product safety defect. Safety concerns should be assessed against official product-specific notices, installer advice and any relevant regulator guidance.
What to check before replacing or expanding the system
- Who is currently responsible for warranty or service support for your exact product.
- Whether your original installer can still obtain compatible replacement parts.
- Whether an expansion battery, inverter or gateway remains supported with your installed firmware and hardware generation.
- Whether changing to another manufacturer would require replacing additional system components rather than only the battery.
- Whether export limits, DNO approval or backup arrangements need to be reassessed.
Why this matters for buying guidance
Home batteries are long-life installed systems. Manufacturer continuity, installer support, replacement parts, firmware and warranty administration matter alongside headline capacity and power. For that reason, products from a company in administration or liquidation should not be treated like a normal current retail recommendation without clear evidence of ongoing support arrangements.
