Media & Product Review Requests
The Tools and Tech welcomes relevant product-review opportunities, review loans, press samples and media enquiries from technology manufacturers, distributors and PR teams.
We are an independent UK-based technology publication covering consumer technology, PC hardware, gaming, workspace equipment, home and business technology, networking, software, creator equipment and emerging technology. Our aim is to expand our research-led coverage with genuine hands-on testing where a suitable product and testing opportunity are available.
Products we are interested in testing
Relevant categories include PC components and peripherals, laptops and displays, gaming hardware, chairs and workspace equipment, chargers and power banks, networking equipment, smart-home technology, security cameras, audio and creator equipment, wearables, storage, software and selected emerging technology.
We prioritise products that fit existing or planned coverage on The Tools and Tech and where hands-on testing can add information that specifications alone cannot provide.
Review loans and review samples
We can consider either a time-limited review loan that is returned after testing or a review sample that is retained, depending on the supplier’s normal PR policy and the practical requirements of the test.
For loans, please state the expected return date, return method, insured-shipping requirements and any accessories that must be returned. We will not knowingly dispose of, sell or transfer a loaned review unit. Retained samples remain subject to our disclosure and editorial-independence rules.
Editorial independence
Supplying, lending or discounting a product does not guarantee publication, a positive review, a recommendation, a particular score, inclusion in a buying guide or a particular publication date. Manufacturers and PR representatives do not purchase a favourable conclusion.
We do not accept arrangements that require us to hide material drawbacks or change an independent verdict. Where appropriate, a manufacturer may be asked to clarify a factual specification or technical point, but editorial conclusions remain with The Tools and Tech.
Disclosure and transparency
Relevant coverage will clearly state when a product was supplied free of charge, retained as a review sample, loaned for testing, supplied at a discount or otherwise incentivised. If an arrangement includes payment or brand editorial control, the content will be treated and labelled as commercial advertising where applicable rather than presented as an independent review.
Affiliate relationships are separate from the review verdict. A product may later carry an affiliate buying link, but commission availability does not determine whether it is recommended.
Embargoes and confidential information
We can consider reasonable written embargoes agreed before information or products are supplied. An embargo controls timing, not the substance of our conclusions. Please identify any information that is confidential or under embargo before sending it.
How we test
Testing depends on the product category and may include setup, build quality, compatibility, usability, software or firmware experience, performance, thermals, noise, battery or charging behaviour, connectivity, ergonomics and longer-term practical use where time allows. We distinguish hands-on findings from manufacturer claims and research-only evidence.

Images, press assets and usage rights
Supplying a product does not automatically grant rights to reuse unrelated manufacturer photography. If press images, logos, video, screenshots or other assets are provided, please include the permitted editorial use, attribution requirements and any expiry or territory restrictions. We keep product-image rights records and only publish assets where the usage basis is sufficiently clear.
What to include in a pitch
Please include the exact product name and model, intended market and countries, expected availability, official product information, proposed loan or sample arrangement, timing or embargo, return requirements, media-asset permissions and the best PR contact for follow-up. If a product is not yet announced, make that clear before sharing confidential material.
