The Tools and Tech Media Kit

Information for technology manufacturers, PR agencies, distributors, software companies and relevant commercial partners considering working with The Tools and Tech.

About The Tools and Tech

The Tools and Tech is an independent UK-based technology publication producing practical reviews, buying guides, comparisons and research-led coverage for readers choosing technology for work, home and play. Coverage is intended for a broad English-speaking audience, with UK relevance where pricing, availability, regulation or services differ by market.

What we cover

Our coverage includes PC components and peripherals, gaming hardware, laptops and displays, workspace equipment and chairs, networking, smart-home and security technology, chargers and power products, audio and creator equipment, wearables, storage, software, cybersecurity, AI tools, business technology, smart energy and selected emerging technologies.

Our audience

We create content for consumers, enthusiasts, gamers, creators, home-office users and business technology buyers who want practical help comparing products, understanding trade-offs and choosing equipment that fits a real use case.

Audience and reach figures: The Tools and Tech is a growing publication. Current traffic, search visibility and other reach figures are supplied to legitimate PR and commercial contacts from the latest available verified analytics. We do not publish or provide estimated figures as though they were measured audience data.

Editorial opportunities

Depending on editorial fit and available testing resources, opportunities may include independent hands-on reviews, retained review samples, temporary review loans, product comparisons, buying-guide consideration, software or service evaluation, technical briefings, launch information, expert comment and longer-term testing updates.

Supplying a product or access does not guarantee publication, a positive conclusion, a recommendation, a particular score or placement in a buying guide.

Ongoing portfolio and launch partnerships

We are interested in building sustained relationships with relevant manufacturers, distributors and their PR agencies rather than restricting communication to one product at a time. A practical media relationship may cover a wider product portfolio, ongoing access to approved model-matched press photography, early announcements, briefings, suitable hands-on review loans and product-testing opportunities. We welcome suggestions spanning complementary equipment that readers could combine into a complete setup. Each editorial decision remains independent and access never guarantees coverage.

Partners can help us work efficiently by providing a named media contact, authorised product-image library, exact product identifiers and regional variants, new-release information, press-material usage conditions and a transparent process for requesting test units. Embargoes and loan conditions must be agreed in advance.

Retailer feeds and purchase destinations

For suitable commercial programmes, we welcome official, permissioned product data feeds and documented APIs with reliable identifiers, UK or regional availability, current price, stock information, refresh intervals and approved deep-linking instructions. We do not present unverified prices as live quotes, and participating retailers do not control our buying-guide rankings. Multiple retailer destinations may be offered for the same exact product when valid links are available.

Commercial opportunities

We can consider relevant affiliate relationships, clearly labelled advertising or sponsorship and other suitable commercial partnerships. Commercial arrangements are kept separate from independent editorial conclusions. Payment or commission does not purchase a favourable review, ranking or recommendation.

Advertising and retail promotions

Relevant brands and retailers may enquire about clearly identified display placements, category sponsorship, time-limited product-deal listings, seasonal shopping features and newsletter sponsorship when a suitable mailing list is available. Proposed placements are assessed for audience relevance, product accuracy and availability, landing-page quality, consumer-protection compliance and appropriate disclosure. We do not guarantee audience reach, conversions or sales.

Retail offers should include the exact product variant, UK or other relevant market, destination URL, current selling price, verifiable comparison price where a discount is claimed, promotion dates, exclusions and stock restrictions. We will not present an unverified price reduction as a confirmed saving. Paid promotional placements are distinguished from independently selected editorial recommendations.

Commercial enquiries: email Thetoolsandtechteam@outlook.com with the proposed placement, brand, products, region, dates and indicative budget. We can discuss a suitable pilot and provide verified audience figures on request.

Advertising formats available for discussion

  • Category sponsorship: a clearly labelled, fixed-duration placement on a relevant buying-guide or category page, subject to editorial and technical suitability.
  • Product promotion: a clearly identified sponsored retailer or manufacturer offer with a verified product destination, applicable dates and transparent price claims.
  • Seasonal campaign: a defined series of relevant promotional placements around shopping periods, with agreed scope and disclosures.
  • Newsletter sponsorship: a possible future option, dependent on having an opted-in mailing list and a functioning unsubscribe process.
  • Affiliate partnership: exact-model buying links and product feeds where an advertiser has approved our participation.

Commercial pilots can be scoped by placement, duration, approved assets, reporting availability and budget. We do not offer guaranteed reach, clicks, sales, paid positive reviews or undisclosed paid search-ranking links. Verified audience and campaign reporting are supplied where available.

How hands-on testing is handled

Testing criteria vary by category. Where practical we record the exact model or variant, firmware or software version, important test conditions, accessories, testing period and material limitations. Research-only coverage is not presented as hands-on testing.

Read our Review Methodology and Editorial Policy for the standards behind our coverage.

Review samples and loans

We can consider retained review samples and temporary loans. For a loan, the supplier should agree the return date, return method and insured-shipping arrangements before dispatch. Relevant coverage identifies how a test product was obtained. Please do not send unsolicited products before arrangements are confirmed.

Full submission requirements are set out on our Media & Product Review Requests page.

Press assets and product imagery

We maintain a rights-aware product-image process. PR teams supplying press photography, logos, screenshots or other media should provide the permitted editorial-use basis, attribution requirements and any territory or expiry restrictions. We do not treat the existence of an image online as permission to republish it.
