Wahoo KICKR CORE 2, BIKE PRO and RUN: UK Smart Gym Equipment

Updated 24 October 2026 — independent research-led UK buying guide. This comparison uses official manufacturer listings and published product specifications, not hands-on testing. Prices are dated reference quotes and may change. Links point to manufacturer product pages rather than confirmed affiliate tracking. No unlicensed product pictures are reused.

Three Wahoo systems with different purposes

The KICKR CORE 2 requires a compatible existing bicycle; the KICKR BIKE PRO is a complete connected stationary bike; and the KICKR RUN is a performance-oriented treadmill. None should be displayed as the same product or with the same setup cost.

Why CORE 2 has two product configurations

Wahoo says its updated CORE 2 adds Wi-Fi, Race Mode and a data bridge for connected sensors. The manufacturer’s specified performance includes up to 1,800 W, ±2% claimed accuracy and 16% simulated climbs. The cassette version includes an 11-speed cassette arrangement, while the Cog & Click model enables compatible virtual shifting. Before buying, check frame/axle fit and gear setup, especially if you own a 12-speed bike or are sharing the trainer across different bicycles. You still need a suitable bike, training surface and optionally a fan and app subscription.

BIKE PRO: fully integrated

The KICKR BIKE PRO is Wahoo’s complete smart bike with manufacturer-stated up to 2,500 W, ±1% accuracy and 20% gradient simulation. It offers Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/ANT+ connections, integrated controls and virtual ride adjustments. This is not an inexpensive substitute for a road bike trainer and it has separate fit, footprint and maintenance requirements. Test the app/platform you intend to use and include its subscription when estimating ownership.

KICKR RUN: advanced treadmill

Wahoo describes RUN’s RunFree mode as using runner position to vary belt speed; it also specifies adjustable incline up to +15% and decline down to -3%. Consider delivered size, floor loading, machine weight, emergency stops and installation carefully. This is a high-end treadmill rather than a simple walking pad. Wahoo’s exact product listing should be consulted for current price and shipping, rather than copying estimates from another market.

Choosing a setup

Use CORE 2 if you already own a compatible bicycle; consider BIKE PRO for a dedicated indoor riding setup; and consider RUN only where running-specific training and suitable room/install conditions justify it. A heart-rate sensor such as Wahoo TRACKR HEART RATE is optional and sold separately. We have not tested claimed accuracy or reliability hands-on.

Before buying

Always verify exact model and generation, UK warranty, regional availability, stock, delivery fees, setup requirements, subscription renewal terms and the final price directly with the supplier. Optional accessories can substantially change the cost. Product image rights will be recorded before photographs are added.
